Joseph Miller - Director of Bands

 

​Mr. Joe Miller is a native of Columbia and a Cum Laude graduate of The University of South Carolina Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree.   Mr. Miller is also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. 

​

Mr. Miller currently performs with his band "Capital Jazz" and is a solo and lead trumpet player with the “Carolina Jazz Xperience”. Mr. Miller also performs trumpet and is President of the board of directors of “The Carolina Winds” under the direction of Tim Franklin and performs with the SC Brass Band under the direction of JD Shaw.  Mr. Miller also performs at various churches and orchestras in the region, and is the owner of “The Coastal Breeze Band” where he is a featured vocalist, trumpet, and saxophone player.

Mr. Miller is married to his wife and best friend Michelle and is the proud father of 3 (Jordan 25, Alexis 23, and Samantha 14).  They currently reside in Irmo SC with their cats Oscar, Aslan, Delilah, and Leo.
