The Dutch Fork Band was founded in the fall of 1992 when the Dutch Fork High School first opened it's doors. Our founding director, Mr. Robert "Bob" Hare, had previously served as the Director of Bands at Irmo Middle School, Campus I. He also worked closely as an assistant with Irmo High School's band program. He started the Silver Spirit Band with about 50 young musicians, and grew the program to well over 100 members before retiring in the spring of 2008.

The program continued to grow and flourish under directors Jonathan Brady from 2008-2014, Paul Clayton from 2014-2018, and Jeremy Ley from 2018-2024. During this time, the band consistently placed as one of the top 10 Marching Bands in the SCBDA Class 4A State Championship, and achieved Superior ratings in the SCBDA Concert Performance Assessments in the spring.

Recently, during a deep clean of the trophy shelves in our band room - Carter Sauls took the initiative to create an inventory of the trophies and awards we have displayed in our band room.
