Dynisha Thompson - Color Guard Director

​

Dynisha is from Chapin, South Carolina. Dynisha joined the Chapin Flight Color Guard in 7th grade and well as the Chapin High School dance team.  Dynisha was a featured soloist in the "Pride of the Midlands" Marching Band shows titled "Influence" & "Español Oscuro."  In 2012, The "Pride of the Midlands Marching Band" won the South Carolina Band Director's Association State in Class 3A. 

 

After high school, Dynisha marched as a Color Guard Member in the Drum Corps group Coastal Surge.  She also attended Winthrop University where she studied dance and participated in the Winthrop Dance Team. 

 

For the past 3 years, Dynisha has been a Color Guard Director at Batesburg-Leesville High School and Camden High School.  In 2021, the Batesburg-Leesville High School Panther Band took home 1st Place at the SCBDA 1A State. In April 6, 2024, the Batesburg-Leesville High School Winterguard won Grand Champions at the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association Championships with their show titled "A Million Dreams."  Dynisha serves on the 2024 CWEA Advisory Board.

 

Dynisha is married to her husband, Reese, and they have 1 son, Jedi (4).  She loves to be creative, design, and help students learn.

 

"What I love the most about being a Color Guard Director is, seeing the growth of the students each season. I love watching all the work and choreography that I create come alive on the field."
